UUID Generator

Generate UUID v1, v3, v4, v5, NIL and Max identifiers, or parse an existing UUID to inspect its version, variant and v1 metadata.

Between 1 and 100

UUIDs are generated locally in your browser. v1 embeds a time-based timestamp, v3 uses MD5 over a namespace and name, v4 is fully random, and v5 uses SHA-1 over a namespace and name. NIL and Max are special all-zero and all-F values.

How to Use

What is a UUID? A UUID (universally unique identifier) is a 128-bit value. This tool generates several UUID versions and can parse existing ones to show version, variant and v1 metadata.

How to generate 1. Pick a version: v1 (time based), v3 (MD5 namespace), v4 (random), v5 (SHA-1 namespace), NIL or Max. 2. Choose a count from 1 to 100. 3. For v3 and v5, choose a namespace preset (DNS, URL, OID, X500) or enter a custom namespace, then type a name. 4. Optionally switch to uppercase or no-hyphen output. 5. Click Generate, then copy a single UUID or all of them.

How to parse 1. Switch to the Parse tab. 2. Paste a UUID such as 9073926b-929f-31c2-abc9-fad77ae3e8eb. 3. The tool shows the version, variant and, for v1, the embedded timestamp, node and clock sequence.

Examples - v3 for the DNS namespace and name example.com is 9073926b-929f-31c2-abc9-fad77ae3e8eb. - A NIL UUID is all zeros and a Max UUID is all Fs.

Privacy All generation and parsing happen locally in your browser.
